Take some time this National Pet Day to show your pets how much you love them by making sure they’re insured or doing a little something extra for them. I’m sure they would love to go on a walk, get showered with treats, or just enjoy a little extra snuggling time and cuddles on the couch. Whatever you do, make sure your pet knows how much they mean to you!

Here are a couple celebration treat recipes:

Dog treat:

Get an ice cube tray and fill each hole with plain yogurt, then add a slice of apple to the middle. Once you have done that – put it in the freezer and take one out when you are ready to give your dog a treat.

Cat treat:

On that same theme as it starts to get warmer outside how about a frozen tuna treat? Simply cut up a piece of tuna into small bits, put on a tray to freeze separately then after they are frozen add to a baggie for safe keeping.

These treats will become a household favorite as you can make a LOT in a very short amount of time and they last a long time since they are in the freezer.
