Oklahoma City, OK!

Our Oklahoma City (OKC) Team has received product! What an exciting time for the Burris Logistics Family.

Many Team Members joined forces to get the operation (formerly a Cargill Warehouse) up and running as a Burris Logistics Warehouse.  On Monday October 29th, outbound orders will start shipping!

The Oklahoma Warehouse and Team will be under the leadership of Steve Gibson, Regional Vice President and Linda Roadcap, General Manager. You can find contact information at the bottom of this post.

Butcher Box will initially be the first and primary customer with many more to come. The Team has trained and prepared for weeks to be in the best possible position to offer Butcher Box the WOW service they have come to expect.

Big thanks to all the people who have been instrumental in the start up. The Jacksonville and New Castle Teams did a great job helping everyone get up to speed on our processes and Burris Logistics Culture. Team Members from varying locations have traveled and assisted. The IT Team has done a great deal in setting up the infrastructure and WMS (Warehouse Management System): V4. Finance was instrumental in getting through the acquisition and setting up accounts. HR has done a wonderful job assisting our leaders in building the Team. You know, so many locations and departments have given their time and knowledge it might be easier to list who DIDN’T help pull this together. A great big THANK YOU to every single Team Member that has been a part of this start up.

The last several weeks, it’s been ALL HANDS ON DECK! The Team has been cleaning, dusting,  landscaping, building, organizing, training – well you get the picture, everyone involved both on-site and remote has been tending to all things great and small: the parking lot lines and fire lines have been repainted, they even pressure washed the building (and of course it rained). Thank you Team for Making It Happen.

Indeed there are a few names heard again and again in researching this story – please know that even if you name is not specifically mentioned you are definitely appreciated!

Steve Gibson wanted to pass along  a huge Thank You to Dave Griner and Randall Browning for “Making it Happen” and getting the building into Burris shape!

Lafabion Smith and Donald Martin have been training Team Members on site – they built their first boxes, practiced stock ups and putaway. They’ve also been working to build Teamwork, modeling and teaching the Burris style of collaboration and communication. Donald says that having Lloyd Keys and Mack King on Site has been great so that Team Members have the correct credentials and that Gary Walstead and Kent Garthwaite always do a great job of set up, slotting and monitoring reports.

Gary Walstead even  created test orders so Team Members who have never used Vocollect could practice – today has been a great rehearsal for Monday, a great opportunity to work out all the bugs and ensure a smooth first day of shipping.

 

 

Thanks to the OKC Team and to everyone who helped Make It Happen. Even before this, the Team was training and bonding with our Jacksonvile, FL Team.
