Putting the U.S. in Burris

In September of 2011, Vlad Navitski along with his beautiful wife, Jane, and daughter, Eva, moved from Belarus to the United States. He was formerly a teacher at the European Humanities University until the authoritarian Belarusian government closed it.

Arriving in Connecticut, Vlad applied as a Selector for the Rocky Hill Warehouse. After starting in the frozen section of the warehouse, he was later transferred to the fresh. Climbing his way up in the business, he applied for and received the position as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk.

During his time as a clerk, he began studying the different scripting languages of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. When he heard about an opening position as a Web Developer in Milford, he readily applied, already knowing the necessary computer languages for the job.

After being hired for that position, Vlad left Rocky Hill to start at the Milford Headquarters. He has now been working at Burris for about 8 years.

This month, the Navitski family became naturalized citizens of the United States and the Milford Team helped celebrate with them. Burgers, Hot Dogs, Potato and Macaroni Salad, Chips, Cake, and other American classics were served.

Vlad, your story inspires us, and we could not be more excited for you and your family!
