The Burris Logistics Family is GROWING West

The Burris Logistics Family is GROWING West!

Over the last several weeks, some of our Team Members have been traveling West to the Sooner State: Oklahoma! In case you are wondering, the state is so nicknamed because when nearly 2 million acres opened for settlement in 1889, those who entered the region before the designated starting time were dubbed “sooners.”

Burris Team Members, spanning multiple Departments and Locations, have been traveling to Oklahoma City to learn about the facility and the people. As you can imagine, there is a lot of work leading up to a warehouse acquisition.

Since “The Right People” are our greatest asset, the Burris HR Team has been connecting with existing warehouse employees and recruiting brand new Team Members for quite some time. They hosted a successful Job Fair last week. Nice work Team!

Operations,  IT, WMPI, and many others have been very involved with assessing the facility and equipment to make sure our systems and processes will run smoothly. Some of this has been done on site with lots to do remotely as well: setting up the location properly in our WMS (Warehouse Management System) and other systems (Finance, Transportation) for example, to help make the transition smooth and our new Team Members successful.

The Jacksonville, Florida Warehouse opened its doors to members of the OKC Team to introduce them to Burris Culture and help them get up to speed on our operations and our Customer’s needs.

Kelly Morgan sent this image of the OKC Team’s first day there – they said for September, 90° is awfully hot! The Temperature in Oklahoma tends to run at least 10 degrees cooler this time of year.

HR Manager, Teresa Fugitt visited the Milford, Delaware location – you can read her Welcome Announcement here.

To our new Team Members: WELCOME, and to all who have helped so far, a great big thank YOU for Making It Happen!
