Wreaths Across America 2019
Every year, Wreaths Across America honors America’s fallen heroes that have served our country from our War for Independence to our present day battles.
At cemeteries in all 50 states, wreaths are laid at our fallen soldiers’ tombs.
Every December, while our heroes are away in service to our country, we honor those who have gone before, show those who have gone after that they are not forgotten, and teach those who are younger the sacrifice of America’s veterans.
As President Harry S. Truman said, “Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid. They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices.”
This year, Burris Logistics in Harrington partnered with Wreaths Across America. Doug Poore of the Greater Harrington Historical Society brought this great opportunity to our attention and Tina Hawkins was excited to become a part of what we hope becomes a new tradition. In fact, the Greater Harrington Historical Society is already asking for donations for wreaths for next year’s ceremony!
One of our trucks was wrapped to commemorate our heroes and loaded with hundreds upon hundreds of wreaths. Steve Palmer, Harrington’s Receiving Supervisor and a veteran himself, loaded the wreaths with the help of Tina Hawkins, Paul Ranalli, and our other Harrington superstars!
On December 14th, the wreaths were dropped off at the Hollywood Cemetery in Harrington, where more than 100 community members showed up to honor our fallen heroes. To learn more about the ceremony, click here.
Below is an attached video of the Burris truck being wrapped for the ceremony. Visit the Harrington Team Gallery to see photos of the truck’s loading and of the ceremony!
