“GMail-Like” Features That Will Make You a Fan of Outlook

Here are some GMail-Like Features in Outlook that might make your transition just a little bit easier.

Labels = Categories

In Gmail we used labels to organize our messages – Outlook uses folders BUT with the added feature of Categories you can develop a color coded system that is more like the GMail experience. With one click you can search for all items in a category no matter which folder. Make a category a Favorite

Use Focused Inbox

To make your Inbox look a little more like GMail, you can use the Focused Inbox which sorts emails according to importance – emails sent directly to you are delivered to Focused, bulk emails and newsletters are sent to the “Other” tab. Click the Settings Gear, Mail, Layout. Under Focused Inbox choose sort by Focused and Other.
