Food Safety Focus | Focus On Taking Time Off

Hello All Team Members!

I hope this message finds all of you and your families safe and well,

This week, after a few weeks of travelling, I am taking some much-needed time off to be with my family. We all have to refocus or clean our lens, so to speak, so we can see clearly to help someone else. Another good way of looking at it is when chopping wood, it is good to work hard but imagine how much more wood we would chop if we took a little time to sharpen our axe when needed.

So, when taking time off or going to different places for vacation, remember to always keep food safety in mind. Many people get food poisoning during times of being on vacation or traveling because they eat things they wouldn’t normally eat. Nobody wants to spend their time off feeling poorly. Eating hot foods is best to make sure all bacteria has been removed.

A retired truck driver once told me to use bottled water and avoid tap water like what is used in fountain drinks or even when brushing your teeth, when travelling to a new place, as much as possible. Different places use different chemicals to clean their water, so you may not be used to what is in the tap water in different areas.

Check out this link from the CDC for more information on water testing in different places:

Thank you for all you do each and every Day to provide safe food and water for the enjoyment of our families!
