Food Safety Focus | Security

Hello All!

I hope this message finds all of you and your families safe and well.

This food safety focus will focus on the importance of Security.

None Shall Pass!  All Burris team members need to be reminded of the importance of good communication and a watchful eye, when it come to the security of the foods stored in our care and the hazards located in our sites.

All entrances to the facilities are locked for good reason, especially areas with hazards, such as ammonia and chemicals are stored.  Access to these areas must be controlled at all times.  Never hold a door open for someone else to come in, unless they are being escorted by yourself, after having signed it at the guard shack or with customer service.  Escorted visitors must stay with a Burris team member at all times.  Security at the guard shack or customer service will document all visitors to the facility, confirm the visit or meeting with plant personnel and account for the departure of the visitor on the Visitors Log.  All visitors must show proper identification and get approval for entry from plant personnel receiving the visitor.  The Visitors Log will be used to account for any visitors on site in the event of a plant evacuation, as well.

Believe it or not there are some bad people in the world who want to harm others and wouldn’t mind using a source of food or a large hazard like ammonia to do it.  Any suspicious activity around food or around hazardous areas must be reported to management immediately and management must follow up to make sure the area is safe.

Thanks for all you do every Day!
