Food Safety Focus | Safety Culture

Hello All!

I hope this message finds all of you and your families safe and well.

This food safety focus will be about food safety culture.

What is food safety culture?

Food safety culture is how we treat the food products in our care all of the time, when we think people are watching and when we think, no one is watching. How much we care about the food in our care comes from our culture and is shown by the steps we are willing to take to ensure everything that passes through our hands reflects the quality we would want for ourselves and for our own families. A healthy food safety culture is vital in every area of the process from farm to table in whatever role along the way we have. We are all included in the food safety culture of our company and all of us play an important role.

Our food safety culture plays a part of keeping our families safe – Each year about 48 million people get sick in the U.S. alone. Many people know someone personally who has been impacted, some severely, from food poisoning.

Our food safety culture plays a part in protecting our business – One recall alone can cost an estimated 10 million dollars and some companies never recover from it.

Our food safety culture plays a part in the quality and the quantity of the brands trusting us with the food products we handle – The better we treat what is entrusted to us the more we will be trusted with.

Thanks for all you do every Day,

Justin Straka

Food Safety Manager
